How the Quiz Works

Back to login

A simple guide to logging in, answering, and checking your results.

1. Logging in

Your team gets a registration number and a password — usually sent by email before the event. Go to the login page, type them in exactly as given, and click Sign in.

Don't have your details, or forgot them? Ask the quiz admin to resend your login email — they can do this any time.

2. Waiting for the quiz to start

After logging in, you'll see a "Waiting for the quiz to start" screen. Just stay on this page — you don't need to refresh or click anything. The questions will appear automatically the moment the admin starts the round.

3. Answering questions

All the questions for the round appear on one page, each with a text box underneath. Type your answer directly into the box — you cannot paste an answer in, only typing works. This keeps things fair for everyone.

A countdown timer sits at the top of the page. You can answer the questions in any order and change any answer as many times as you like before you submit.

You also won't be able to select, copy, or right-click the question text — that's intentional, to stop questions being copied elsewhere (like into an AI chatbot).

Questions can be in English or Malayalam. Each question always shows in its original language; a toggle at the top of the page (on by default) also shows the translation into the other language right underneath it — switch it off any time to see just the original wording.

4. Use one device for the whole round

Please answer from a single device for the whole round — don't log in on a second phone or laptop while your team is already answering on another one. Your answers are saved automatically as you go, but if two devices are being used to answer at the same time, their saves can overwrite each other and one of you could lose your typed answers.

It also gets flagged on the admin's side as multiple devices being active for your team, which they may follow up on.

If your device genuinely stops working mid-round, it's fine to log back in on a new one — just make sure the old device is done being used first.

5. Submitting

Click Submit Answers once you're happy with everything. If the timer reaches zero first, whatever you've typed so far is submitted for you automatically — so don't worry about missing the deadline, but do try to fill in every answer you can before time runs out.

You can only submit once per round, and you'll immediately see your score.

6. How answers are graded

An AI checks each answer against the correct one. It's lenient about small spelling mistakes and different ways of writing the same name (for example, "St. Thomas" and "Saint Thomas" both count) — but it will mark an answer wrong if it's about a different person, place, or fact than what was asked.

7. Think a grade is wrong?

Once the admin ends a round, go to My Results and open that round to see every question, your answer, the correct answer, and whether it was marked right or wrong.

If you disagree with how a question was graded, click Request Review next to it. This flags the question for the admin, who will double-check it and correct your score if needed.

8. Viewing your results

Visit My Results any time to see every round you've completed and your score for each. While a round is still running, you'll only see your total score — the full breakdown (and the Request Review button) only appears once that round has ended. This is so a team that finishes early can't share the correct answers with teams still playing.

9. Playing fair

Please don't look up answers online, use an AI assistant, or share answers with other teams during a round. It's meant to be a fun test of what your team already knows!

10. Something not working?

  • Page looks stuck or froze? Refresh it — you won't lose your typed answers or restart the timer, both pick up right where you left off.
  • Can't log in? Double-check your registration number and password, or ask the admin to resend them.
  • Missed the round entirely? That's okay — check My Results once the admin ends it to see how your team did.
